GBP/USD neutral near-term – UOB

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - In opinion of the research team at UOB Group, GBP/USD remains neutral in the short-term although a test of 1.4565 remains on the cards.

Spain's unemployment change falls below estimates in January

Spain’s unemployment change came in at 57.2k in January, lower than the estimated 71.2k but substantially higher than the -55.8k seen previously.The Unemployment Survey released by the Spanish Government shows the number of unemployed workers added during the previous month. It is a leading indicator for the Spanish economy. If the number is negative, it indicates an expansion within the labor market.

RBA keeps rates on hold, signals furture rate cut possibility

The Australia Central Bank today left its rates unchanged at 2.0 per cent today and signaled the possibility of further rate cuts amid weak global economic outlook. Economic growth in China which is Australia’s major trading partner has slowed down considerably. Annual China GDP hit a 25 year low in 2015. Other emerging economies have also shown signs of slowdown. In the wake of fall in commodity prices, Australia’s terms of trade has continued to decline.
